David Crombie
President and CEO of the Canadian Urban Institute

David Crombie is a former Mayor of Toronto and Member of Parliament. He has also served as Federal Cabinet Minister and as Chancellor of Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto. He has received a Doctor of Laws from the University of Toronto for his contribution to his native Toronto and a Doctor of Laws from the University of Waterloo for his contribution to the quality of life of Canadians and the environment.

A member of many community organizations, he is the Founding Chair of the Waterfront Regeneration Trust and President of David Crombie & Associates Inc.

Alan Broadbent C.M.
Alan Broadbent is Chairman and CEO of the Avana Capital Corporation, a private investment holding company and a member of the Order of Canada. Avana supports a number of urban initiatives including the Jane Jacobs Prize, which celebrates "unsung heroes" in the Toronto Region; the Toronto Charter movement, a process that engaged local citizens in considering increased autonomy for the Toronto Region; the C5 Initiative, which brings together the mayors and civil society leaders from Canada's largest cities.

Mr. Broadbent holds several other positions including Chairman of the Maytree Foundation, Jamscor Inc., and Pace Integration, a Canadian technology company.

Patrick Luciani
Patrick Luciani is currently a Senior Resident at Massey College, University of Toronto and Senior Fellow on Urban Affairs at the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies. Before turning his attention to urban issues, Mr. Luciani was Executive Director of the Donner Canadian Foundation. He has written two books on economic issues published by Pearson Education and contributes to a number of publications including the National Post and Globe and Mail.

George Baird
Professor Baird is an award winning architect and currently Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape & Design at the University of Toronto. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto. He received an AM (Hon.) from Harvard University in 1994. Professor Baird was an Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Toronto from 1968-1975 and Professor from 1976-1993. Professor Baird is also a partner in the Toronto based architecture and urban design firm of Baird Sampson Neuert Architects Inc.

Professor Baird was elected Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada in 1986 and has won the Canadian Architect Award on several occasions for his professional projects.
